Web Site Usability Checklist


There are many simple ways to evaluate the usability of a web-site without the involvement of users. To make this assessment has been standardized and, if possible, eliminated the human factors evaluators recommend using a predetermined evaluation forms.

Architecture and Navigation

  • Is it logical to sort the navigation bars?

  • Does every page to see which site you are?

Planning and Design

  • The page size exceeds the size of the window?
  • The scheme layout is repeated on all pages?
  • Is there a clear focus on each page?
  • Visual layout is visible?
  • Effectively used if the alignment?

  • Texts on the site are clear and concise?

  • Do the graphic elements optimized for transmission over the Internet?

Colors

  • Whether the appropriate choice of colors for the site?
  • Whether you use too many colors?
  • Colors are used logically and consistently?
  • Are adequately different colors used in black and white?

Making the text

  • Is the writing clear?
  • Font size large enough?
  • Font color, suitable and adequate contrast?
  • Whether the text is formatted so that the line was 10 to 12 words?

Robustness

  • Should the user something to remember, passing between pages?

  • Does the site with a user’s browser?
  • Does the site with equipment that uses a user?
  • Does the site to monitor high and low resolution?
  • Are non-standard plug-ins? Whether they are necessary and useful?
